About PIE Program 

The Pre-incubation for Innovators and Entrepreneurs (PIE) Programme is a co-ideation and incubation programme launched by Lingnan Entrepreneurship Initiative (LEI) and Hong Kong Science and Technology Park (HKSTP) for early-stage start-up projects. The program aims at supporting young innovative leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into actions for a better society. 

 
The PIE Program enables students to:  

• Discover potential business ideas to address community & market needs   
• Identify suitable team members and establish a functional team  
• Turn their concept into an applicable business plan and minimum viable products  
• Be capable of joining the external incubation program(s) and advanced-stage of competitions 

 

Program Highlights 

• $100K SEED Money​ 
  A fast and direct track to HKSTP's co-ideation program, which offers up to $100k seed money upon meeting milestones requirement​ 
• Capacity-Building Opportunities​ 
  Essential training that enhances your knowledge in starting and managing a business​ 
• Mentorship​ 
  1-to-1 mentoring to guide you along the entrepreneurship journey​ 
• Professional Service Support​ 
  Including patent application, intellectual property rights workshop, accounting, and marketing training​ 
• Overseas Exposure​ 
  Start-up internships, tours, visits, and humanitarian technology missions, if the pandemic situation allows​ 
• Start-Up Resources ​ 
  Access to Lingnan's start-up resources, networks, facilities, and support from LEI​ 
• Mix & Match Sessions​ 
  Allow you to meet like-minded people to brainstorm start-up ideas and collaborate 

 

Eligibility 

• Current full-time UG & PG students, faculty members & staff, and alumni from Lingnan University; OR​ 
• Individuals/ teams referred by recognized community partners of the PIE Programme​ 

 

Selection Process 

LEI will conduct an initial screening to eliminate non-eligible applications or applications poorly meeting the selection criteria. Shortlisted individuals and teams will receive online and in-person training to sharpen their business ideas and build entrepreneurial knowledge and capacity. After that, they will be invited to attend a selection interview to enter the HKSTP's co-ideation program to get a maximum of $100K to implement their project ideas. The selection panel will be composed of Lingnan LEI representatives and HKSTP members.

Start-up Mixer Session x LEI O'night

Do you want to know more about the PIE Programme and its opportunities? Are you looking for like-minded people to join the programme with you? This mixer session provides an opportunity for you to find your potential start-up team members who are interested in entrepreneurship and the PIE Programme.
